The Best Bruschetta

This simple yet addictive appetizer is a show stopper for any party or side dish to meal.

Pre-heat oven to 400°

1 baguette of French bread

3lbs of tomatoes

3 cloves of garlic pressed

1/2 cup of basil




Chop all of the tomatoes into a strainer and salt them liberally and let them drain for an hour. The salt pulls out the moisture of the tomatoes. Press the garlic through a garlic press into the tomato mixture. Finely mince the basil into the tomato mixture. Salt the tomatoes again very liberally and pepper to taste~stir and let sit until the crosini is done. To make the crosini~slice the French bread and place on a baking sheet lined with foil. Butter each piece and place in the oven for 10 minutes. Check the bread and leave in the oven a few more minutes if it isn't brown on the sides of each piece of the crosini. Take the crosini out of the oven~dollop a spoonful of the tomato mixture on each piece of the crosini. Enjoy!!
